And that's how it works:

The colored frames around the individual products show the current status:

Red = currently under boycott
Yellow = can be used as an alternative to all red (but still with reservations)
Green = safe product (can be bought without hesitation)

The reason for the current boycotts can be found in the product description.
The database still mostly in German can be easily accessed by using the Google translator or any other translator.

We hope you can understand that we unfortunately cannot mark products, e.g. from the categories 'personal hygiene' and 'housekeeping', that have been manufactured without animal testing for years, as safe. The EU Chemicals Regulation, REACH (=Registration, Evaluation , Authorization, Restriction of chemicals) that has come into effect in June 2007 made it nearly impossible for many companies to stick to their ethics.
We mark only those products in green, for which we already have received feedback that they are indeed still don't use bioassays to test their substances and products.

The same also applies to products from the category 'food'.
Products or substances of animal origin are always consistent with animal suffering. Even so-called organic products don't guarantee that there haven't been any animals that have suffered in the process. A fine example is this video – filmed on such an organic slaughterhouse in the South of Germany.
Therefore we've decided to always mark products that are of animal origin or products that contain substances of animal origin in the color yellow.
You can only be a 100% sure that the product is safe to buy – and no animal has suffered – if the product is marked in green.
Products with a yellow frame therefore can be bought as an alternative only in your personal opinion.

We try our best to update our database every day and add new products and manufacturers, but of course we greatly appreciate any help from our fellow animal lovers:
Please send us all information about products that you weren't able to find in the database. We are also very grateful for every new alternative that we can add.
Just send an email to wermachtwas@animalsliberty.de or send an SMS to +49 176 71 99 07 19.

If you find wrong or out-dated information in the database, then please also let us know.

Thank you very much for all your help and efforts!
